RIKUGIEN GARDEN (六義園) TOKYO

Miura san reminded me of Autumn by sending me some beautiful pictures taken at the Rikugien (Garden) in Tokyo. Rikugien is one of Tokyo's most beautiful Japanese style garden. It is quite a spacious garden with ponds, islands, forested areas, man made hills and several tea houses. I was told that this park has an area of about 88,000 square meters covered with over 6,000 trees. Autumn is beautiful especially when the leaves change their colour, like the maple trees turn red. Some migrating water fowls in the ponds - come December and January, the ponds will be full with them.

" Koi" Japanese Carps.

This picture shows a New Tokyo tower or they called it, the "Tokyo Sky Tree". It is still under construction and scheduled to be completed in December 2011. It will be the tallest structure in Japan with the height of 634 meters or 2080 ft. The tower will house a group of six terrestrial broadcasters headed by NHK and some restaurants.
