I only knew recently that the upgrading of the 145 km Sapulut - Kalabakan "highway" completed 3 years ago cost the Government RM920 million after reading a news report. The road condition is "bad" today. It is believed that most of the 145 km have been badly damaged by overloaded logging trucks on the road daily. Many road users have voiced their frustration and disappointment that no action has been taken by the authorities like the Road Transport Department and Sabah Forestry Department to check on the overloaded logging trucks. Worst of all, there has not been any repair or maintenance done on the damage parts. Instead, "danger signs" were put up to warn the motorists.
