HARVEST FESTIVAL SABAH - KOTOBIAN TADAU TAGAZO DO KAAMATAN.

The month-long May Harvest Festival celebration in Sabah was first "kick-off" in the Interior district of Tenom on 01May and ended at “Hongkod Koisaan” or the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) in Penampang on 31May. People from the State Capital and the nearby towns joined the last two days celebration featuring cultural displays, dances, songs and many other cultural activities.
Very unfortunate, the weather was not in our favour as it was raining most of the time.

The giant replica Sompoton(s)were put up for the occasion.

Sompoton is a mouth organ made from gourd with bamboo pipes in East Malaysia. It is originated from the state of Sabah and played by the indigenous people in the state especially, the Kadazan-Dusun and Murut.

The State-Level "Unduk Ngadau" (Miss Harvest Festival) event was the main attraction. The photography session was a hit among the visitors.

I was not able to visit all the exhibitions and cultural activities because of the rain. Hopefully, the weather will be kind next year!
