FLOOD HIT KOTA KINABALU AREAS

Following the heavy rains over the last 2 days, low-lying areas around Kota Kinabalu was hit by floods yesterday.

 

Penampang district was among the worst affected with more than a dozen villages flooded.

Many villagers in Penampang were evacuated. Many roads were turned into rivers by the rising water. This was the worst after the last one in 1999.

As of yesterday evening, the water started receding. The situation should be back to normal in a day or two.
