THE FABULOUS CUISINE OF SRI MELAKA !

Occasionally, my wife and I will go for a Malay dinner in Sri Melaka restaurant. We also have recommended many of our foreign friends to dine there.
Located at Kg. Air in Kota Kinabalu city just opposite of the Sedco hawker stalls, Sri Melaka  specializes in Malay and Nyonya cuisines with a mixture of Chinese. Traditional recipes with ingredients like Sambal belacan, curry powder, chilli, ginger, onion, pepper and assam are used in their cooking. The restaurant is air-conditioned with a seating capacity for about 160 people over 2 floors.
One of my favourite dishes is the  Malay style "mapo tofu" with minced meat in red chilli sauce.
Fried Chilli squids is one of their signature dishes.
Sabah vegetables with  Belacan, the most popular vegetable dish of the restaurant.
Another signature dish is the delicious "curry fish"
If you like hot stuff, try out their chilli prawns.

Apart from the above dishes, there are plenty more like,  Rendang beef, Assam fish head, deep fried squids, Nasi goreng , Ikan Goreng,  Laksa and many others including Chinese style Lemon chicken, clay pot bean curds, steamed fish and others!

To get there, it's very easy, just take a cab. All cab drivers know where it is.
