KEUKENHOF GARDENS - AMESTERDAM

Don't miss the Keukenhof Gardens when visiting Amsterdam in Spring. According to the brochure, Keukenhof is regarded as the world’s most beautiful spring garden and it is opened only for 2-3 months during each Spring!

Following our "guide", we took a train  from the Amsterdam Central station to Schiphol International airport where we boarded the "Keukenhof Express" bus service departing every 15 minutes to Keukenhof.
Arriving at the Schiphol Terminal.
This bus took about 35 minutes non-stop to get to Keukenhof.

The entrance to the Park.

This park consists of over 32 hectares and about 7 million flower bulbs. I could not believe what I was seeing - the magnificent colourful display of tulips and other springtime bulbs in bloom.  Keukenhof is definitely a top attraction in Holland!

The colour combinations and plant choices were totally delightful. An extraordinary park!......The flowers speak for themselves. They were just gorgeous!

Amazing!
There are several restaurants within the park serving British, Italian, Asian to typical Netherland food. We had lunch beside this beautiful lake.
The meat balls soup was good!
As usual, plenty of green, potato chips to go with a pork chop.

"Sakura" in the garden?
In the pavilions dedicated to lilies, orchids, bromeliads and many others, the flower shows and demonstrations inside were fabulous!

My camera's battery ran out as I was furiously clicking away at all these beautiful flowers. Luckily, I had a spare.

Our last section of the tour was to the windmill area. It started to rain, signally us to end the tour.
Surprisingly, we found a Japanese garden.

We wouldn't have visited this park and enjoy the wonders without the assistance of our personal "guide", our daughter. We were supposed to spend a full day there but had to cut short because of the heavy downpour in the late afternoon.

The Keukenhof gardens were spectacular! I had a truely magnificent experience. For those who love flowers, this place is highly recommended!
