KENYA SAFARI TOUR - MASAI MARA DAY 2

On the second day, we drove over to the Mara river to catch the migration of the wildibeests and the zebras. Our driver/guide told us that with luck, we might also see the other big five or even the Cheetah. On our way, we came across some the beautiful birds and animals.
A huge and beautiful vulture on the tree top.

Secretary Bird - a very large bird of prey in Africa.
This eagle had caught a rabbit for breakfast.
The largest antelope in Africa - the eland
This giraffe came near to our vehicle and had a drink from a very small water hole.
One of the big five!
We were lucky to see an other big five, a black rhino.

We were about a week late for the annual great migration of wildebeest and others across Mara river. There were only a few herds of Zebras and wildebeests left.
The water level of the Mara river was swallow making the crossing very easy for the wildebeests and zebras.
We found a zebra being dragged around by a huge crocodile later in the lower part of the river.

It was a good day, however, the lion and leopard were still missing! Back at camp, other guests were talking about their encounter with the lions and cheetahs. We were not so lucky I guess!
