VOLVO s80 ON FIRE

Unbelievable!! 2 days ago, a Volvo luxury sedan caught fire after hitting the back of a bus a the Tuaran bypass. The volvo s80 has been known for it's sophisticated safety that include an automatic braking system to avoid collision and it could also alert the driver if he or she is getting tired.
The picture of a burning Volvo s80. Is Volvo really safe??

MALINDO AIR - B737-900ER + KLIA2

It's my first experience traveling with Malindo Air from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur and return last week.
Malindo Air, a joint venture of Indonesia-based Lion Air and Malaysia's National Aerospace and Defence Industries (NADI) is operating B737-900ER, the latest member of the B737 airplane family.
This B737-900ER is a two-class configured aircraft with 12 business class and168 economy seats featuring newly upholstered leather seats, LED mood lighting and a  spacious feel due to streamlined sidewalls and overhead bins.

The generous seat pitches of 32 inches in the economy class.
Free Inflight entertainment - personal touch screen TV in every seat. Their programs come with latest Asian and Hollywood blockbusters, interactive games and flight information.
Free water and biscuit for this 2 hours 30 minutes flight.

Landed at KLIA2 on time. It was a very long walk to the arrival hall. The terminal looked grand but definitely not user-friendly.

Walking through long passages, turning corners and up-down stairs, it took me more than 25 minutes to reach the arrival hall.

Departing from KLIA2 is also another hassle if one is not familiar with the terminal.
The concourse area at level 3.
Following the signboard to the check-in and departure area.
 Entering the check-in counters area.

The main information board indicating flight check-in and departure gate.
Malindo Air check-in counters at "W"

The crowded AirAsia counters.
Gate J and K are for Domestic departures.
 Another long walk !

A full flight on the way back to Kota kinabalu
Home journey began!

Currently, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Malindo Air are the 3 Airlines serving Kota Kinabalu-Kuala Lumpur route. I selected Malindo Air because of the low fare which came with 20 KG free baggage allowance, inflight entertainment and free snack. In term of cabin and seating comfort, Malindo Air is no doubt the winner with their extra leg room.

THE WORST "YAM CHA" EXPERIENCE

Last Sunday. we tried out a new Chinese restaurant in the new Oceanus building at the city's water front.
Though the building is still under construction, It is partially opened for business.
The entrance to Oceanus Water Front Mall.

The 3rd floor houses many franchise restaurants and cafes. A friend of mine recommended us to try the "Yam Cha" in this Chinese restaurant.
It was a full house. We were given a table at the corner.

The restaurant has fine furnishing with many well-groomed waiters and waitresses. I expected excellent service and good food. However we were disappointed as the service was terrible. The pot  of Chinese tea I ordered came 15 minutes later. Even our food was delivered at an interval of 10-15 minutes per dish.
The "Lo bak gou" radish cakes was not too bad.
These steamed "char siu bao" were soggy.
The over cooked braised chicken feet in broken pieces
Century Egg + Lean Meat porridge was rather tasteless.
The worst was this Stir-fried sliced beef "kway teow". There were only a few pieces of slice beef and the "kway teow" was soggy too ! Very disappointing, we will definitely not return to this restaurant.
